Before I met all you smart guys I bought cedar shavings thinking it would help with the smell. I only used a small amount when I saw that it is not a good idea..
I would hate to throw it out..Any suggestions on what to do with it?
Can I toss it in the run since it is outside?

Thanks all....

You can offer it on craigslist and recoop some of your money or give it away on freecycle.

If you have a dog with a zippered type dog bed you can fill it with some shavings too. Keeps their bed fresh and fleas away.

*You could mulch your flower beds with it. Bugs dont like cedar, so they wouldnt be eating your flowers for a season.

Good idea my dog would like that.

Wow thank you I forgot about the bugs not liking cedar, in fact I used to put the shavings from my pencil sharpener in my indoor plants to keep those buggers away. Some pencils are cedar and they also hate the lead.

Great idea folks thanks
