Any tell tale signs for RP poult gender?

Are there any tell tale signs that hint at the gender for Royal Palm poults? This is my first ever poult, I hatched it out myself. All the other turkeys Ive ever bought were already a few months old.

Their personality and size of their snood is the first sign. Were in Northern Illinois are you? There are such a small number of us Northern Illinis on BYC

Yes, when they get about 12-14 weeks and loose the feathers off their head and start to strut and gobble. Other than that, it's just a good guess. Even young hens strut.

For me, royal palms are among the latest to figure out the sex. For some reason, bronze and narragnasett seem easier to me. There are lots of characteristics that develop gradually, but there is also room for a lot of error in judgement...snood size, caruncles, legs. But by 12 weeks or so it should start to be more obvious.

Look at the brast feathers; if they start to have black edges it's a tom. Hens have a white breast.

By 8wks. they'll start to show some color. The SOP also shows 2 black bands on the tail feathers but is not correct either.
