I will be attending this weeks Planning Commission Meeting where the topic of clarifying village ordinance will be on the table.
Right now we have a very vague ordinance that relies on looking at what is permitted in one district to give us the prohibited uses of another district (ie. This is permitted in rural, therefore since it is not specified in the village as permitted, it is then prohibited.). So that's what we're working with.
I have been working on getting community support. Plan on having sample ordinances, and space requirements on hand. I have put together a fact sheet (inspired by fellow pro-chicken activist here
and plan to pass those around to anyone interested.
What else should I have ready?
