My day-old chicks are arriving on the 6th of June, and I just cannot wait! I've been researching, and making sure I have everything set up for them along with building their coop for when it is time.

Want to make sure that I have everything ready in the brooder, and make sure I am not missing any necessary elements I may not have come across for the possible future.

My ears are open for suggestions!

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
Keep the brooder dry. I like to use this baby bottle I made

Use a brooder plate or momma heating pad instead of a heat lamp.
Build the coop and run NOW to the correct size for the number of birds you want and design it correctly and made it predator-proof.

Yes, that is large enough, but it depends on how long they will be in the coop. If they free-range, for example, then that is definitely big enough. However, if they spend all day in there, then you may want to make it bigger.

Okay. Thanks! And yes, they will free-range from time to time, and also spend most of their days in the run when I am not there to supervise them.
