Any tips on preventing fox attacks

I dont think you can prevent them as such, more only try to mitigate as much as possible when it does happen.

A secure run and solid coop is all you can do really.

Stupid question... Do foxes climb? Does my run need to be covered on top? Xxx

I use my Ipod hooked to battery speakers and play podcast sermons all day long. Or use a radio tuned to talk radio in the run. You want talk, not music. I move the Ipod each day and there are different speakers for each sermon so the fox doesn't get used to the same thing each day. Yes, I know there is a fox in the area, lives in the barn next door as a matter of fact. And it has gotten one of my chickens this year before I started putting out the Ipod. No issues since I started playing it and the run is by no means secure - only enough to keep the chickens from wandering off.

Also, if you have the room, get some donkeys. The fox will not come anywhere near our donkey pasture. We have a coop in there that we haven't secured at night for many, many months and nothing will brave the donkeys to get to those chickens.

Oh, and yes, foxes can climb very well.

How about electric fence around your run or yard? Not that expensive, very effective.

My run is made of 2x4" welded wire, including the top. I have 1/2" hardware cloth around the bottom 24" of that. I don't have electric fencing around my run, but if I needed it, I would put a strand about 6" up, and maybe another strand 6" above that. It should keep both the climbing and digging predators out of your run. If I were you, I'd put a cover on that run. (Or do you have one? I missed it if you said.)
