out of a flock of 17 I have this one hen that is being a mean little brat .
she'll peck and pull other girls down from the roost ,chase them for no reason and has most of the flock feeling nervous or uneasy . She started laying just a month and is one of the two laying right now so I don't want to get rid of her but thinking about .
any help would be much appreciated .
Thanks

I'd suggest separating her from the flock. Maybe a "time-out" will bring her round a bit ( a couple of weeks, at least). It should, in theory, reduce her rank in the flock and put her in line.

I would put pin-less peepers on her. She won't be able to see straight ahead with those on, and shouldn't be able to chase or pull them down from the roost. I have used them on my flock before, for about 3 months, and believe it helped.

I agree with CTKen. You've got plenty of space in the chicken village to keep her in "time out" for a while and still get eggs from her.
BTW, how's the winter roosting house coming along?
