I've heard all the tricks for telling barred rocks apart but are there any I can use to try and determine the sex of my RIR babies? Thanks!

The females will often have the dark stripe down the back, but not always. Also the males feathers are supposed to come in slower. So if you have a short tailed chick and the others are longer tailed, the one with the short tail is a boy.

I only have two of them and though one had half of it's tail feathers pecked off at the feed store, the half that's left is the same length as the other bird. Guess it's just another case of wait and see what develops! Thanks!
