We get 6 chicks and they grew with plenty of space and then one day at about 3 weeks Bernice got pecked on her toe bad enough to draw blood. From then on they would not leave her alone. I finally put her in a seperate brooder and her foot healed nicely at first.
It was almost healed when they were out in the yard for a look see and one of the chicks pecked her again and broke open the scab.
I put her back in the seperate brooder and she stayed their till yesterday when she was all the way healed, only a tiny speck where her sore was.
Last night was their 1st night in their new coop and this morning her toe is all bloody and worse than originally!
They have also pecked on her other foot so now she has one large sore and 2 smaller ones.
What do I do??
They don't peck any other the others at all, should I give away Bernice? I can't stand to her her picked to bits by them!
I have locked Bernice in the coop with the other chicks locked out in the run, it it can't stay like that long!
