Any way to make this bachelor pad work?

When I go to run him back home he’s starting to run at me aggressively with his wing dropped, although he backs off when I stomp at him and shoo him off and chase him.

when I let them out of the pin every morning he does the same thing. So I have to chase and stomp.

The cockerel is likely thinking "the human used to be so nice but now he is constantly threatening, chasing and stomping at me -- I don't know what came over him but he has become dangerous and I need to keep him at a safe distance".

Acting in a threatening manner towards him, especially near "his hen", is what made him aggressive IMO.

Very rarely do we chase chickens here! Walking with spread arms, or with a stick to extend our arms, sure, but it's herding, a'la Dr. Grandin, not a mad chase.
Look up her book on managing livestock! She's not about chickens, but is right on with advice, and can help with chicken herding too.
