Ruth, I was kind of offended by his post as well! I didnt know other people had asked, he could have worded it more politely. People like him are the reason I rarely go over there. I asked about getting alfalfa while it was raining once and one lady went off on me and told me if I couldnt move it properly, dont own goats. All I asked was if it was ok to get it a little wet in the rain on the ride home or if I should cover it! There are nice people there, and then you get cocky ones, just like every other place on the internet! But if Chuck is the owner, he's not making his site look good. If the owner is rude, you dont have much hope for anyone else. That's why I like BYC so much.

That sounds like a great "idea"for a forum. I also subscribe to Mother Earth. I love it. Maybe that would be a great idea for another sister site to BYC!!!

How can he approve of anyone if he does not know them personally. It sounds like a website i would like to know more about, but if he has to approve that i am good enough for his site don't know if I'm really interested.After all what does he consider good enough, race, color creed male, female, red head, blonde, brunette, bald, old, young,skinny, fat .Realy in fact I think I may be too good for his site. marrie

I like www.homestead.org , it's not as big as BYC by any means, but its real friendly there too.

You don't want to speak your mind on that forum or they will kick you off! I spoke my mind about their rudeness and they promptly kicked me off and banned me from the other forums they preside over also. Very friendly at first but then you kind of get the idea that just a few people run the forum and if you ain't for 'em you ain't in the forum!

It would be an excellent forum if they actually stuck to the idea of homesteading info and kept their egos and personalities out of the running of it. Also, they mostly want to talk about how much they spoil their dogs...almost like a competition over there. Not sour grapes here so much as extreme disappointment as I expected it to be a little like Countryside Magazine and it wasn't. One can't be a homesteader for real if you spend THAT much time on a computer.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who sensed an undertone of nasty over there!

I think they have some of the same folks running Backwoods Home forum and Homesteading Today forum as I read a post stating this.....I tried to sign up after they banned me and those forums said I was unable to register with my IPC address. Those folks are not only rude but extremely vindictive!
