Anybody downsizing?

I should be. But I am not yet. The ones that I need to get rid of are the ones that have been around the longest (and of course not laying like they used to.) But I just can't bring myself to do it yet. Maybe this fall.

I'm downsizing, too. Culling heavily for the very best stock in the breeds I have, and deciding I just can't do it all....so, I'm doing a few to the best of my ability, and then I have a layer flock that my culls go to...as they are becoming unproductive, they're leaving the farm, and I haven't replaced them.

I am currently trying to downsize on my ducks and focus more on my bantams. I am not having alot of luck because the ducks I really need to go are males. I try posting them on craigslist for sale and I swear everyone calling so far either wants to eat them (even though I made it clear they are absolutely not meant for the table) or I get people that just want to throw them outside on their property--no coop or nothing and have no knowledge of how to raise them.
I ask them if they read the actual ad- because one lives indoors and is diaper trained and they have no idea what I am talking about. I must have bad luck with craigslist.

So if anyone here in Southern Ca would like a few pet ducks (1 blue swede (housetrained), 1 oversized black swede and 1 crested blue swede/runner cross to help me out please PM me. They can go for free to the right home. All boys!
