Anybody due the 15th?

well.. I started with:
12 blue/black/splash orpingtons (shipped eggs)
18 blue/black/splash ameraucanas (shipped eggs)
and a couple eggs from one of my New Hampshire Red pullets who had JUST started laying..

When I candled today I found that the NHRs were in fact unfertilized.. so no big surprise there
The shipped eggs had mixed results:

12 blue/black/splash orpingtons: 2 blood rings.. 3 unfertilized.. so only 7 good eggs out of the dozen
18 blue/black/splash ameraucanas: 3 blood rings.. 3 unfertilized.. so 12 good eggs out of 18

I'm kinda bummed that the orp eggs arent doing very well.. though I must admit that when i received them a couple did have hairline cracks.. when I candled them they looked to be unfertilized.
So now it's waiting to see who hatches come the 15th.. hopefully the rest survive...

I have chicks due on the 15th! I am down to 5 chicks that I saw for sure moving when I candled and 2 that were just too dark to tell. So excited for babies!

We have 15 eggs left. They're all candling well and moving around in their little watery homes.

We had 1 blood ring and 26 that appeared infertile, but that was probably due to the shipping.
