Pretty sure the male carries the gene to determine sex. At least that's how it works in humans. Keep that Roo!

It does not work that way in chickens. The hen determines the sex of the chicks. Not just chickens but all birds.

Chickens Hen = XY Roo = XX
Humans Female = XX Male = XY​
