Anybody else on LOCKDOWN?? Hatch day Aug. 5th!

Don't do it!

I have 15 chicks out now. there are I think 3 more maran eggs to hatch and I put 6 under my serama who is broody AGAIN - I could hear one of those peeping earlier today.

Unfortunately I have one chick pipped that will have to be put down. I can see its beak and it is one of the worse cases of crossbeak I have ever seen.

That leaves two eggs that are due later this week. One is from my EE X BCM and I HOPE is a pullet that lays beautiful olive eggs.

I keep checking the brooder - three weeks ago I hatched out ten beautiful chicks and the heat lamp clamp loosened up and tipped down. All the chicks died from heat stroke.

I still feel that gut wrenching feeling when I walk in the room with the brooder.

At 4:30pm I had nothing not even a sound or movement...it at 530 I HEAR PIPS, AND I HAVE CRACKED SHELLS!!!!

My eggs are rocking, and there singing....!!!! My hatch is due Aug 7th....these are my Buff Orps....

your not kiddding!!!! within a matter of an hr....hen master just sent me an email telling me to take out the red plugs on my bator....better go over and do that?...wonder if all of them....and take a peep at whats happening in the nursery....

I keep going back and forth...Ive been watching this one since 530pm!!!! lol...I wish we could put a video on here, didnt let me I tried.... This egg is the egg I posted earlier on here...come along way!!!!

I've got 3 beautiful babies. Two pips and 1 still nothing. It's so exciting!!

WOO HOO! Congratulations. I have BUFFIE'S too. I now have 9 hatched and 10 is about to pop out into the world. Boy all this wait can wear you out. I have 2 or 3 that look like they are starting to pip too. The ones born day before yesterday are going to be full grown by time they all get hatched.

It is so exciting to watch!

oh my god!!!! U already have buffies!!!!...Mine is still trying to come into the world!!!! Ive been watching it since 530pm...Im tired!!! but excited!...

and I have 2 with cracks in the shell...the RIRs and the Cuckoo marans...arent doing anything yet....Im usally up until midnight...and awake by 730am you know that will change...just watching!!!!

one piped on day 18 & died ...i opened the egg & looked & the yolk was still there & it looked like it pooped in the shell .
i did candle & seen one / alot of clear space & opened that one , the chick quit about day 3-5ish . the others look like they fill the egg ( no spots that i can see light except the air cell) & the one that died piped from the side middle of the egg .. normal?
