Anybody ever used Cornstarch to get rid of mites

I was just wondering if you could dust a chickens vent with cornstarch as a solution to rid of mites. It seems like that would be a very natural way to smother them.

I seriously doubt this would work. They would simply crawl out of the cornstarch.

I actually used it once as a suggestion from another poster. My broody hen had some mites at the time that I was unaware of and she hatched some chicks for me. The mites were on the chicks and I was freaking out so I rolled them around in the cornstarch as suggested and it seemingly got rid of the mites. So I was just thinking that with cornstarch being so heavy that it would smother them and why it wouldn’t work as well if you dusted It on chickens

Try elemental sulfur, put some in a old nylon or thin sock and pat down
