anybody get chicks and they all live?? Getting mine today and nervous

I picked up 10 from a breeder, and after 2 hours in the car, and 5 days in the Mr. Turtle Brooder, they are all OK. we change the water daily, and make sure the feeder is full all the time.

I was really worried about heat lamp placement at first, but not so much now.

Mostly my chickens are boring, which is good. They won't even squabble over treats. Of course they are only 10 days old, so maybe they need time to figure out what a treat is. The same whole wheat mini-cracker has been in the feeder for 2 days and they haven't even looked at it. Carrot peels are mostly ignored.

I ordered 16 chicks, all arrived happy and healthy and still are at 2 weeks old.
Good luck to you

I'm worried about it as well! I've never done this chicken thing and now I have 8 that are a week old. So far so good. I still haven't named any yet just in case. It would be much easier on my boys, 10 & 6yrs old, if it was one of the "light ones" instead of "Fluffy?" that doesn't make it. Fingers crossed I've been doing everything right.

Good luck to you! Just listen to the very wise and knowledgable people on here.

Ive ordered from McMurray about 6 times in the past, also picked up a few from the feed store once in awhile. I have to say, that out of all those chicks (except for the ones loved to death by my toddler) Ive only had one die, it came that way from McMurray. It just happens sometimes, but I agree with the best advice which is to keep them warm, CLEAN, fed and watered. Animals are programmed to survive, enjoy them!

Oh this is encouraging!! THANK YOU for some positive stories!!!

They are not coming in the mail, my feed store ordered them & said they would be in today- 2 BR, 1 Buff Orp, 1 Partridge Rock, 1 Auracana, 1 RIR

I realy wanted an Australorp, but they are all sold out now, but they have some Golden Comets there, I will pick up another 1 or 2 when I get the ones I ordered.

Really wanted 4 hens so bought 6 chicks at the farm supply. All lived, all are healthy and happy. Just keep them safe from predators, keep them warm and well fed. You will be fine. Enjoy the chicks, they grow up fast!
