If anyone has pics of their BR girls at 8-10 weeks, I'd really like to see them for comparison.

I just traded my 2 5-week BR roos for 2 pullets (from the breeder who kindly agreed to trade any chicks that turned roo). The pullets we got are older and bigger, but we're really not sure how much older. Most of our flock is about 6-7 weeks and these new girls make the one we call Big Red look like No-So-Big Red. I'll try to snap some pics later.

PS. Breeder said they should be about the same age, but I'm thinking NO WAY

Thank you sooooo much! I really think they look like the 9-weekers. They're slim like that... not quite as fat and filled out as the 12-weekers. Definitely bigger than our 6/7-weekers and 2-3 weeks older seems reasonable to me.

I'm going to try to weight them. Anyone have any idea how much they would weight at that age. I've been following the Three Chicks A Day blog on blogspot. He's been photographing his EE, RIR, & BO each day for the first 60 days, and also weighing them periodically. I think his RIR and BO weighted 1lb6oz at 8 wks and the EE weighted 1lb10oz at 8 wks. If anyone has other weights/ages to compare, I would love to have them.

Thanks so much for the reply and pics, speckledhen. I've read many of your wise and insightful posts.
