My chickens will not eat pellets. They only eat crumble and scratch. If I leave it out there will they eventually get hungry enough to eat it?

I mistakenly bought pellets, they were NOT impressed, they eventually ate them, but prefer the crumbles, might try dampening some so they can taste them, its new for them, they might not realize its edible

I tried pellets once, but my chickens didn't seem to like them. In fact, the only way I finally got them to eat them was to mix it with crumbles in the feeders. Eventually, they ate or spilled most of it. I wound up sprinkling the rest in the run for them to forage... and went back to buying the crumbles ever since.

I have a kind of feed they dont like

it has turned into the daily snack, If I wet it down and make a mash they go nuts over it. give it to them dry and they wont touch it! If the mash dries out, I have to re-wet it before they'll finish it

You aren't leaving out scratch for them all the time are you?? Just curious, you know its only a snack, and not actually healthy like the pellets/crumbles are.

My girls will eat the pellets but they prefer the crumble. They eat the crumble much faster than the pellets. I'm sticking to crumble from now on.

None of my chickens like pellets they just look at it and turn around look at me, it's like what are u feeding me. I thought they would love it since it's 3 dollars more per bag, I thank my chickens for saving me some money LOL.

How old are your birds? If they are just at Point of Lay, they might learn to eat the pellets. If they are older, they probably won't ever learn.

Here is a part of a post from after I took one of my hens to the vet. My girl died the next day, after over 5 weeks of ups and downs.

There are six of them all the same age (four or five months old) and one started laying about one month ago.
