Hey guys!

We have a Concrete Hexagon foundation that was put in when the house was built, but the Gazebo never got built. It has electrical hook ups and everything. So we are thinking of making a Gazebo shaped Coop/run, so basically half the Gazebo would be enclosed and the other half would have Hardwear cloth walls, plus the chickens would be able to free range the ranch during the day. So what I am wondering is if anybody has ever built a Gazebo style coop, or converted a Gazebo into a coop? And if you have, do you have pictures?

Thanks Guys!

I
hope I got the link right - this takes you to a page of this year's entries for the coop contest. On that page is a "Castle Coop" which may suit your needs, or further down, second from bottom row is one that isn't hexagonal, but is a square footprint that may be modified to fit your concrete. I think it's called the California Coop and it's beautiful.

Oooh, I Like that... Wouldn't fit on the foundation, but I could put it in our Orchard instead..... Hmmm... Now I am off to calculate wood costs for this...

Wow, I hadn't seen the California Coop entry before... That coop is absolutely gorgeous! I love the corner nest boxes with the cabinet above... I might have to build a big version of that in my new coop this spring!

LOL, I really Love that one too! I emailed them yesterday to see if it was warm enough in the winter for the Chickens, and she said they did great! I think we may work with this Idea... FIL is a Engineer and Contractor, I think he should be able to put something together, LOL.

Really? I thought you had a lot of flexibility in choosing how big or small you made the structure. See, for example:

Well, I could set it on the Foundation, I'm just saying it's not the same shape as the foundation, and I was looking to make something fit the foundation perfectly, as it is set up for a Gazebo. But DH Vitoed this one, he says we are not building a giant Igloo
