Anybody use the Chinese eBay Nipple Drinkers?

A 360 degree nipple drinker is designed for use in a housing system for birds raised on the floor. By and large these are meat chickens.

Layer nipples, designed for birds in high density cages, work better when fewer birds are drinking from them since the water flow is not as great.

360 is what I use and I've never had a problem. We got some cornish x and used them with those guys too. I've only had one rooster that never got the hang of it but I think he was a little mentally challenged. RIP Stinky Pete. PS that's not why he died.

When I bought the nipple waterers a few years ago we installed a common toilet float valve in a 5-gallon bucket, used a short length of tubing (the type used from the toilet tank to the wall valve) to attach the garden hose, and then bought a cheap aquarium heater $12 to put in the bucket. The bucket supplies pipe into the coop and outside the coop. We also have shut off valves at the bucket to stop the flow into the outdoor pipe if the weather is below freezing. We have 4 additional nipples in the bottom of the bucket for the winter mostly. Love, love, love this set up. The worst case scenario is having to haul a couple of gallons during the worst cold weather when the hose cannot be connected to the bib at the house, sub-zero freezing type weather. The only thing to be cautious about is that the water always stays above the level of the aquarium heater or it will burn out. Jus tmount the aquarium heater (has a suction cup) to the bottom of the bucket.

Thank ya'll for the feedback on the nipple waterers and the explanation on the 360-degree nipples. I put an order in with QC Supply this evening. Getting the hardware up, just gotta get the time and money to start building the coop!

This will be a gravity flow system which I think will work great.

I'll get pics of mine soon. Right now we are in winter mode and I have taken the pipe inside to thaw and clean. They still have the 5 gallon bucket with the nipple drinkers and the aquarium heater to keep it from freezing though. Pics soon.
