Our PBS station started airing it on Saturday night. We've only seen 3 episodes, but we're hooked. It is really a hoot with quite a bunch of oddball characters...who all seem to take each other for who they are. I do not think they are shooting any new episodes, but the older ones are great. My wife and I are starting to plan our weekend around it...maybe it's time for tivo.

I bet dvd's are available, too...... never thought of that. And my birthday is in March (note to my wife: what a great gift idea!).

I LOVE Vicar of Dibley. Yes, it is available on DVD. We bought the whole series from Amazon. If you like British comedies, also try Keeping Up Appearances and one called (I think) Good Neighbors. Good Neighbors is about a suburban couple who quit their jobs to become self-sufficient on their land (a typical suburban lot), much to the dismay of their neighbors and friends. All three of these series are hilarious; I watch them repeatedly.

Love Vicar of Dibley!!!
Dawn French is wonderful in anything she does. If you like "Vicar", you might also like "Jam and Jerusalem" (marketed stateside under the name of "Clatterford"). It takes an affectionate look at village life and the togetherness found in a local community where everyone knows everyone else's business. Dawn French plays "Rosie" who is a sweet little woman with an alter-ego called Margaret, who is angry, rude and hateful towards anyone and everyone. She has numerous adventures and incidents during the series, such as forgetting to order pasties for a picnic, finding a potato with Jesus' face on it (prompting her to think that she had had a calling, enabling her to become a vicar) going on a celebrity diet (and subsequently swallowing a marigold glove because she couldn't find a balloon to swallow), stealing from the SPAR and getting the Guild bowls team disqualified for indecent exposure.
I love "Good Neighbors" as well. I would really like to live their lifestyle!

Do you know if Clatterford ever shown on tv or would I need to get some dvd's?....or maybe our local library.....I think Dawn french is just great in Vicar of Dibley. I've never heard of Good Neighbors, but it sounds good, too.

I love that show, along with Last of the Summer Wine and Keeping Appearances as well. PBS on evenings is when I would see them.

Need updated shows but the old reruns are great too!

I can not see spending that kind of money on those DVDs on those programs. I wished they were alot cheaper.

Clatterford used to be shown on BBC America, but I haven't seen it there for quite some time. If you Google "Jam and Jerusalem", click where it says "Videos" at the very top of the page. You can watch episodes online. Look for S01 E01 1/3 (Series one, episode 1, 1 of 3. It is shown in 10 minute installments.) I think they have 3 seasons worth online.
