ANYBODY What will I get if I cross a Buff Silkie with a White Silkie?

Anyone know what will come of crossing colors? Any websites with color genetics for silkies etc...? Right now I've got 2 silkie white roos and 2 silkie white pullets and 1 buff pullet. What will I get if I breed the white and buff?

could be anything, depends what's hidden under the white.

WOULD THEY AT LEAST PRODUCE A SOLID COLOR CHICK?

More than likely you'll get a partidge looking chick. I've said this a thousand times, breeding chickens is not like mixing paint. There are thousands of genetic combinations that can produce any kind of color or pattern. When you cross colors, there is really no certainty to what you are going to get. .

Thanks, I don't really want a mixed bird! I'll keep the white silkies seperate and the buff one (Aunt Clara) will have to be kept with the Roo that we aren't using to breed with at that time.

Saw that you are from NZ.......... my daughter went there a few years back and stayed with the Maori's...in their village or something... and did a homestay maybe in Wellington?

I would think alot would be buff as this color seems to dominent in so many other breeds. If nothing else they will be silkies. You might get somthing neat.

I'd like to eventually show them.... What does it take to get into (move to) New Zealand other than being disguized as a sheep?
