How exactly does one end up consuming whipped cream and ketchup?

Someone I was friends with heard that it tasted like strawberries and I was the only one dumb enough to try it. I was also dumb enough to not check when the ketchup expired

That is the only time I have ever thrown up from food

Haven't had one since the late 50s, haven't had any kind of Jello in I don't know how long, unless we count ballistic gel.

My Nana used to make a green jello salad every holiday. My family continued it after she died. Then my ex hated it so I haven’t had it in years. I miss it! Maybe I’ll ask my mom for the recipe again.

Ambrosia is alright, marshmallows, whip cream, fruit... No mayo or savory to it cause that's gross.
BUT my mom used to make banana mayo sandwiches for us when I was a kid, not a fan.

The closest I’ve seen to that here is just jello with fruit (that goes with the jello flavor). Im not a huge jello fan and while some of those looked okay the majority looked horrible.

Still would take any of those over whipped cream mixed with very old expired ketchup though… I am pretty sure that caused me trauma

My friend's dad ate those. It used to gross us out when we were kids! Still not something I want.

I'm not a fan of opaque jello. I just don't trust it But my husband's family tradition is a green jello mold for Thanksgiving, so I suspect I'll have to look at it every year for the rest of my life because my kids seem to like it too.

Now layered jello, that's another story. That's just regular jello stacked on top of each other. And I am a big fan of poke cakes.

I have always thought that green jello was a cruel joke. It does not taste like anything good. I don't care what you mix in it. It is not anything I'd eat.

As a kid I worked at Chick-fil-A, and they made a carrot and raisin salad. If memory serves me, it was shredded carrots, raisins, mayo, sugar, and lemon juice. Also not good at all.

Take out the mayonnaise and replace it with cool whip, and that's something my grandmother occasionally made. I think there might have been pineapple in it, too. It wasn't bad, but sweet stuff isn't my thing.

This guy makes recipes from actual cookbooks. A lot of them are jello salads, including the one linked.
I have been informed that a lot of recipes like this wound up in church cookbooks and whatnot so as to keep folks from bugging the contributer for more recipes. Not a bad strategy.
