I’ve given away my chickens and ducks, down to bunnies and worms for now. I’ll have chickens again but I’ve read their poop needs to compost first; I usually use it with larger yard waste I can’t use for worms and such to compost. Bunny poop is fantastic and I prefer it over chicken poop for the veg and herb garden. No pre composting necessary.you can skip the holes in the bottom, the bottom being tight works just fine - you just need watch how much watery veggies/fruits you add vs bedding
I found it is easier to add chicken compost and mulch to the plants, than every rain or watering generated all the tea they got
