Ha! Nice, that would be like sweet revenge for my poor chickens!... I like it!
Hey! I saw your title and clicked on to tell you just that!
In June we had a terrible fox attack. It/they killed 22 of my 24 babies. These chicks were 6 or 10 weeks old. My husband shot an adult fox that night. The thing came up our drive right after I locked up for the night!
In August we were up watching for falling stars and saw some critter. Hubby said raccoon. I said fox. Over the next two nights he killed two half-grown foxes. The first fox I put in a large pot, covered it with water, and lit a fire. My mother and I had a delightful conversation for the little more than an hour we kept the fire going. We decided that was enough and put out the fire. When I fed the chickens in the morning, I poured out the cooled water and carried the pot to their yard. They weren't sure what to do with it at first. I took a stick and started pulling the meat off the bones. It took my 20-something chickens three days to eat it.
Boiled fox for breakfast = chicken revenge!
(Also about that time a BYC member had a post about feeding road-kill to your flock. Most people prefer to cook the road-kill before giving it to their birds.)
The second fox was tossed out to the back acre. Never saw it again. I think the possums ate it.
