How is the babies?

Thanks for asking! Sorry, I haven't updated here. The Ameriflower stalled mid-zip. I posted a thread to enlist the advice of others as to whether or not to assist. Apparently the yoke had leaked and "glued" the chick to the membrane. I assisted last night and she is doing well!

The BCM chick has been so sweet to her! She laid by the egg and peeped softly in encouragement before the assist, and has been preening her since the hatch.

good stuff. We are dealing with Florence right now. I will get some pics of the Barnevelders and the Flowers next week. They are 9 weeks and 4 weeks old.

Irma came right over me last year. At least she had slowed down to a 2-3 by the time she got to me.

We are west close to the mountains. It's just starting here. 5-8 inches of rain expected here so, nothing like our eastern brothers. Some of the costal locations have upward of 28 inches. Its State records over a hundred years.

Blew all the leaves out of the gutters today. Made sure all the coops have fresh bedding and new sand. I hate it for the young Barnevelders as they are outside. I checked on them and they are not using their roost poll yet. Huddled in a corner but dry.

Sounds like you have prepped and are ready to weather out the storm! I didn't have chickens during Irma. My dog and I holed up in a closet during the hit, lol.
