Anyone doing the Dave Wilson backyard Orchard method of planting

I waited until the end of the garden season and picked up some clearance "charlie brown" trees at Walmart. If you don't mind waiting a couple of years for them to get going, that might not be a bad idea.

I paid $3 for my pear tree and $4 each for my apple trees.

the 1 year old dwarf fruit trees they ship are 3-5 feet tall and some are branched already - but all are shipped dormant and are bare root stock. Not some measly little twig - but an ENTIRE TREE!
