It's been so hard to move my 6 year old daughter and hubby away from the bator that I've hardly gotten to see any thing!
Who needs cable TV?!

I've got my last egg zipping right now. (fingers crossed) That will make the hatch 90+% because one of the twelve didn't develop. But that would be counting my last chicken before it hatched!

Thanks he is a black minorca bantam mix with red cochin bantam, this one was born with the feathers on his legs and feet, soooo im hoping it looks like a black cochin. My other two that came from them 2 have no feathers on the feet or legs and look idetical to the minorca. Just like the showgirls some come out with nn some dont.

Gina they all have a BO dad and their moms are BO, RIR, Australorp, EE crosses, golden sexlink and BR, too.
I wanted to work with my own mutts before buying some eggs.

I'm really happy with my 1588. Kept humidity 40-50% first 18 days and 60-70% the last days. No sticking membranes!

What adorable fluffy butts! Shay, that little loner is precious!

Arrrgh. It is taking forever. Last night there were 3 little holes. This morning one had zipped completely but it is still in its shell, peeping and flapping the one tiny wing that is exposed. I am sitting on my hands (well, I am doing laundry) but they are soooo slow. This is my second time hatching chicks (both Golden Penciled Hamburgs) and the first batch was slow as well.

This time, I feel like I HAVE to have a few survivors since their daddy was eaten by a hawk and they are the first eggs layed by our remaining pullet. My FIL is out of the country and wants to come home to a baby roo.
