I have 3 pekin duck eggs that are due the 3rd or 4th!!!!!!! Can't wait, I'm on pins n needles!!!!!!

I find myself looking and staring at them just waiting for them to start rockin n rollin!!!!!!

Has any one candled lately??


I candled last night, but not by choice. My broody had hopped off the nest for a few and I noticed there were 3 extra eggs under her! The night before the normal 5, so she must had gotten off sometime during the day. I had to candle to make sure I was taking the right ones out!

Sure enough, nice live, moving babies in all 5! This wait is going to either fly by or draaaggg on...LOL!

I have 37 in the bator now due to hatch out on the 6th. I haven't candeled all yet, but the ones I have are showing good signs. Keeping my fingers crossed! All of these were shipped eggs from California to North Carolina.

I candled a few nights ago... two out of three are alive and kicking. The third was nothing... I broke it and it was not even fertilized. *sigh*

I have a baby!!!! I checked this morning and no pips at all. Went out and checked about an hour ago and one chick is half way out!!! No other pips, so I will have to keep checking!!!

Yay!!! We''ve got one blue bantam cochin baby, 5 pipping, 5 staring at us. This is gonna be a long night! Set the eggs on Friday the 13th and they are due tomorrow March 5. Our first hatch in many years. A teacher friend is setting 19 of ours today, so we may be in Bantyland this spring.
