This is Decko, a leopard gecko. She is about 15 years old. I noticed lately when she sheds, the skin doesn't come all of the way off of her head. Should I do something about that? Except for a blind eye, she is in relatively good health.

Stunning colors on her! I don't know anything about Geckos, is 15 old for a Gecko? I would imagine you shouldn't pick off skin unless it interferes with her vision and eyes? Super pretty though. :)

That is what my son told me - to leave the skin as long as it isn't interferring.
I think they can live quite awhile with proper care. 6-10 is average in captivity. But, they can live up to 20 plus.

Wow, then if 6-10 yrs is average, she's doing quite well for an old lady! :D

I keep have experience with crested, leopard, golden, and mourning geckos! If a leopard gecko’s shed won’t come all the way off, make sure she has a humid hide with damp moss or paper towels. If she does, get a Tupperware container with some holes n the lid, and add a very small amount of lukewarm water to the bottom, just enough to cover her toes. Place her in the bath with the lid on. The humidity should help the shed come off. Watch her to make certain she doesn’t put her head in the water or anything. If this doesn’t help after 10-15 minutes, you can try gently dabbing at the shed with wet cotton balls or paper towels. Good luck with your gecko!
