I am anxious for eggs and would love to see who else in in the same boat as me, time wise.

My Girls hatched May 5th, so they will be 18 weeks on the 1st. They are getting red and dark pink around the eyes and comb area, but no squatting or singing the "egg song" yet.
I think I probably have at least another month or more to wait. But I'm hoping for sooner!! lol.

Aww, she is pretty! I have one that looks like her, but without the buff coloring in the tail area. I love how EE's are all so different!

YEAH!! Congratulations on your first Egg! And blue too!

Do you think the coloring of the hen has anything to do with the color of the egg?

I have 6 pullets - hatch dates: 4/28, 5/1, and 5/19 - all are Orpington Roo with two different moms - one a Delaware and one an EE. All have some pink on their faces and my EE's have red in their combs - no eggs yet!

Your EE is really pretty! Mine hatched 19 April and laid a lovely blue egg last week, just a few days before she was precisely 18 weeks -- but nothing since. I wan't even expecting it or looking for it. I'm not even sure I heard the egg song. (It has been so god-awful hot that mine are still in their brooder in air conditioning.) I just looked over and there was a perfect, though tiny, blue egg. You'll get one too -- soon.

That IS a beautiful EE. Mine hatched May 25 so I guess I'm looking at at least another 6 weeks. I can't wait! I haven't eaten an egg in almost 6 years but surely I have to eat a green, or hopefully blue egg.
