Anyone else have problems with humidity with Magicfly Incubator?

I'm a newbie to incubating duck eggs (incubating a few eggs that our free range duck eggs layed). I was just doing a total of 3 and lost one on Friday which should have hatched on Wednesday. I was so sad when all movement stopped and veins were no longer really visible. We did open egg and found a nicely developed duckling although still quite a bit of yolk exposed. We are trying to monitor humidity levels in our incubator and it seems to fluctuate quite wildly. We have two eggs left in there are due to hatch next Friday. When I candle I'm seeing movement thankfully! I have ordered a Avianweb Temperature and Humidity Gauge Thermator to help.

I'm just wondering if this is a common issue with this incubator or just in general. I am looking at a Brinsea and wonder if I'd have more of a success rate.

I don't have this incubator but I think many have a problem with the humidity staying high in it.

What is your gauge reading for humidity?

Brinsea’s are wonderful. The new Ovations have had a few reports of not keeping humidity high enough at hatch time, but there are work-arounds. They are usually a very stable, excellent investment.

Now the questions, how long have your girls been laying? Sometimes duck eggs do better after a month or so of laying, for them to get all the kinks worked out, so if they are new layers, I’d just try again.

The biggest issue with most incubators are their own instructions are horrible. Not everyone can hatch the same way. I’d suggest you read the Red link in my signature block below (turn your phone sideways if on mobile to see it). Hopefully it can give you some guidance on humidity.

When I used it, I couldn't control the humidity no matter how hard I tried. I just gave up and added water here and there. Quail are very hardy though, so they did fine. I dont know about ducks, though.
