Anyone else keep the "pests" around?

Do you keep the nuisance critters around?

How did you exterminate them?

How did you exterminate them?
With the help of friends and .22's. I'm not a fan of pesticides. We had about a 1000 acres. We moved the herd and spent a week target practicing. Used the water truck to flood the burrows and then leveled it back out.

You cleared 1000 acres? That's impressive. Did you use any traps, too?

Haha no, sorry for being unclear. It was a lower pasture we cleared. Approximately 10 acres that were infested with the little buggers. The property itself was about 1000 acres. Not all usable. No traps.

Wow, and here I am complaining about the gophers on our 2 acres… sounds like we need to get with the program 😅 Thankfully we haven’t had any major injuries yet, but we do pasture sheep where the gophers are constantly digging giant holes and *I* roll my ankle in them constantly.

It doesn’t help but it makes me feel better to empty the dirty chicken bedding into the gopher holes. A few shovels full of chicken poop has to at least annoy them momentarily…right? 😆

Wild animals are fine until they start costing me Benjamins. I scare deer, bears, coyotes, and groundhogs away. I do kill chipmunks. I hate it, but we have an actual infestation on our property that's caused damage. Oh, and mice. Mice are gross and a huge nuisance.

Everyone else is welcome. Chicken run is predator proof, except for the bear.
Benjamins? I don't even want them costing me Washingtons
