Yep, part of the reason that they are in the middle of my house is to get them used to all the crazy sights & sounds around here; when I had them in my spare bedroom all quiet & locked away, I noticed they were getting jumpy & nervous anytime they heard or saw anything remotely unusual. Are MUCH more social now... they squabble over who gets to jump on our hand first when we open the brooder, and nothing much phases them anymore!!

As far as Zookeeping, you can take the girl outta the zoo but not the zoo outta the girl....

A projection TV or Rolltop desk would work just as well... Just add mesh & a heatlamp and viola!! instant brooder decor...! I must say, the sliding baby gate is REALLY nice, not sure how expensive they are anymore (my youngest is 4 years old), but if you find one cheap or at a yard sale, I'd say grab it...

No, I do it the other way. I find it much easier to artfully place cardboard boxes with lights clamped above it around my home in such a way that the actual brooder looks like another part of the "shabby chick" decor....

hahaha that is just the coolest thing I've ever seen!!
We do have a constant supply of hatchlings here, and making a stationary thing would be the best thing going, I'm about tired of hauling out the tubs and whatnots. lol Guess what tomarrow's projects gonna be! Thanks so much!
