Anyone else ready?!

I am VERY ready to be smellin that wonderful rich loamy smell in me nose holes already!!!!

A winter wing storm took my plastic off my small hoop house a few months ago. ;(. I did cry big fat crocogator tears that day. Dirt and diggin and just the sweet silence out there feed my tire old soul a lot of days. I NEED be able feel the earth slippin through my fingers and to see growin things. Since husbeast retired and we moved home this past march my mama has needed a LOT of attention with different things. Love her to death but i also need me time. Monday is knittin mornin and no matter how many times i tell her this somethin always must needs done now right now on monday mornings... and it makes me sad. But my lil hoop house and garden fill the disappointment of missin just a few hours a week of lady time. I can slip out there and close the door and she doesnt think look for me there. So i get alone time.

Sweet sweet husbeastie ordered me new plastic a few days ago. Yay! But! ALL OF THE SEED CATALOGS! I think i have like eight right now. Eesh peoples!mean mean mean! Lol! I am thinkin of orderin some coir and givin it a try for my seed startin this year. But i am not sure if the pieces are tinny enough to fit in the wee cubes or not. I usually use perlite or vermiculite to mix in with my compost. But one catalog i got was for free $25 no min and i could get a few blocks of it there.

Thank you never thought of that, will do

When we moved from fl to nc this spring i had a lot of potted plants that made the journey. Not all small either. Appliance boxes are great for that! And lots of times you can get them for free at appliance or home improvement stores. If you have old sheets blankets and towels you can put around them to hold em steady too. Or just whatever will fit in the spaces.

Thank you I'll c

I am ready for spring too. We have very large raised beds and mulch very heavy with straw . I did not have to weed much at all. My husband built me 3 much taller raised beds last year for our strawberries. They are about waist high and have over 200 plants in them. It has been a huge help saving my back. I have scoliosis and bending over for long periods is difficult. He made having strawberries more enjoyable for me for sure. Looking forward to spring!
