Anyone else take their dog(s) joring or mushing?

When I was in high school I had a freind who had a big pit bull. He would put a coller and a leash on it and he would get on a skate board and the dog would pull him to town. I dont know if this is really mushing though?

A correctly trained dog is trained NEVER to pull in the collar
Pulling is only allowed in the harness.

If you think about it, the feeling is a lot different (pressure on neck vs pressure on shoulders) so it's not hard for the dog to figure out when pulling is "allowed" or not. In my case, I wasn't able to teach my dog TO pull in the harness, but I admit I didn't try very hard - we just did something else instead.

A dog pulling while on a collar is just a poorly trained dog. They are everywhere, this is nothing special.

I think this guy just did this so he woundnt have to walk plus he was just showing off. This was about 31 years ago. The dog later got shot by a farmer for chasing cattle. I havent seen the guy sinse I got out of school. This thread made me recollect it though.

I go mushing. I have a team of about 5. 2 Alaskan Huskies, 2 labs, and a border collie. I live in North Idaho so we have snow but in the summer I run them on a 4-wheeler except for 1 who I train with a cart. its good to know I'm not the only musher on this website!
