Anyone else used this incubator?

I recently purchased this incubator off of eBay thinking it was a great deal because it listed everything I wanted in an incubator and only cost $80. Well after losing all 48 of my eggs, I put another thermometer in the incubator and discovered it was 8 degrees off and the humidity was 20% off! No wonder I lost my eggs! I realize now that I should have calibrated the incubator before using it. Difficult lesson learned

My question is, has anyone else used this incubator and had success with it? I'm wondering if there is someway I can make it work or if I should just get rid of it. Also, what incubators have worked for you? I'm feeling very discouraged after losing my eggs and need to try again so that I can have a positive experience with incubating. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

It's what we call a "Janoel knockoff". We have a few users of the model. I believe @WVduckchick is incubating/hatching in one of these at the moment. She's using a "low humidity incubation method" (dry incubation) I believe. The most important part is to not trust any gages/thermometers/hygrometers unless they are checked (I too, learned that lesson the hard way,) and to monitor the air cells for growth and to adjust humidity based on them and not some number.

I am using that incubator. Chicks on day 22, have nine currently hatched. Yes the hygrometer is way off on the unit. I don't even look at it. I set the thermostat at 38.0-38.2. It fluctates as the heater kicks on and off, but I have found that temp keeps the eggs right at 99.5 or within reason. I've bought multiple thermoneters/hygrometers and made a few adjustments to make it work, but after this last hatch, I'm quite happy.
Review this thread for a few modifications we have done. And good luck. It can be worked with, if you are willing to go a little further with it. For the money, I mean, what did we expect? Lol
