So I went to TSC yesterday for some wire to complete my fence (no more chicken dinners for you, Mr. Fox!!!!) and naturally it was the start of Chick Days and I couldn't NOT get some, right? So all they had in yet was "Assorted Reds". Naturally my guesses as to what these might be were better than the staffs. And I know some will be roos, but that's ok because my only roo (a lovely Silkie) was the first chicken dinner for Mr. Fox 2 weeks ago, so my 12 girls can handle a few roos.

Anyhoo.....I got 6, they are super-cute. Here's a pic of them on my lap.....just wondering what people have ended up with from the "Assorted Reds" bin before....my guesses were RIR, New Hampshires, and RSL......anything else I might have? I picked so I had all the varieties - the backs were different. Also one has white feathers starting on the wings....the rest are buff-colored on their starter feathers.

In this pic, one had just jumped off my lap - lol.....

My DH came home from TSC Wed. last week with 6 chicks (TSC said they were RIR)...some look like the two reddish chicks in the above photo.

Today our animal control officer was here and she said they were Buff Orpingtons but all the photos I find do not look like out chicks. Two have streaks down their backs. Sure wish I could ID my chicks.

Well this will be fun then! I was expecting RSL, but amberlink?, buff orp?......my my!! We'll just have to wait and see I suppose.

Thanks for the guesses :-)

Whatever they are, they certainly are vigorous and doing well!

I have 3 like this. Two of them are lighter and one is darker with some speckles on her head. I was told they were pullets

They all have light creamy feathers on their wings and tails.
