Our wyandottes and free range rooster came out into the run, but the others peek out and are like "nope" and back in they go...I'm afraid to let the free range chickens out out with this weather.

Yes we have two dogs, and six kitties! And they are NOT nasty they do their business and everything is kept clean! I meant I don't understand how animal hoarders/bad breeders can deal with the smell and nastiness of having a lot of animals living in those conditions!

Easy, they don't keep the animals anywhere near their house so they don't have to see it or smell it.

We found our cattle dogs in an 8X8 fenced in pen with a small shed for them to sleep in and get out of the rain. Horrible way for barely 3 month old puppies to live. We didn't want 5 dogs but when we saw them we knew the ones we didn't pick were not going to have a long or happy life. It wasn't a hard decision to make.

Some Amish keep house pets like non Amish but most don't. Like I said. Dogs are livestock and treated as such. If I could I'd rescue horses. It breaks my heart to drive by a house in July and see a black horse in full riding tack tied to a hitching post in 94 degree sun with no water nearby.

@BigBlueHen53 we got us good men. The first trail my husband plows when it snows is from the house to the chicken coop. Then he plows the driveway.

We're still waiting on the township to plow the road. Pi has a vet appointment on Wednesday...may have to reschedule.

I got lucky today. A neighbor showed up here . The dogs were letting me know so I went to the door and seen him out there on his machine plowed the whole driveway. I gave him $30. for gas. I think he cleared the van too.

I have to agree, I don't know about luck but you have a very good neighbor!! My back is aching

I'm with you! I shoveled till the vehicles and DH cleaned their windshield. I thought yesterday it was light and fluffy but today it was packed hard and very heavy
