So I looked up that Pennsylvania farm and she has been doing it for over 5 years now. She rents 2 chicks, feed, a box, bedding, a water bottle to families, and an instruction packet. They keep the chicks for 2 weeks and then return them. She has had a HUGE success rate. She charges $40.00 per pair of chicks. I definately would be keeping the chicks seperate from my hens, but can someone tell me what diseases they could pick up if there were no other birds in the families' houses?
