Anyone ever see a hen skip?

From spring to fall last year I spent countless hours just watching them. I noticed a few of my Leghorn hens would not run, not walk, but skip when they were happy. I assume happy is the right emotion... Usually they were "happy" after getting treats or stealing food from their sisters. Anyone ever seen this before?

That chickens are capable of experiencing joy is hardly debatable, especially if you've spent a lot of time observing chickens. I have seen mine barge out of the gate when I open it for them to free range, and they certainly do have an certain excitement to their "gait", but I don't believe I've ever seen them skip.

I wish you could capture this on video. We could get a better idea of what you are describing.

My young hens skip. There is no other word to describe it. They are so full of joy it makes when they free range it makes me happy they are a part of my world!
