Anyone ever see this behavior?

I have a backyard quail pen. Just a 4x8x4 flyway with a small house on one end. I haven't handled the birds in a while. I caught one and it started chirping. At this sound the rest of the quail (4) came storming out of the house with their wings spread out all puffed up. I nearly died laughing at them. They almost looked like a dancing safe grouse or prairie chicken. "Tough guys"

They were about to 'take on' the predator.

yeah, they do that once in a while, they delight in scaring my dog (a big "tough" german shepherd) like that
