I'll be ok in a month once the bones heal, and if the dozen holes in my hand don't get infected.Getting spurred sucks. Hoping you recover soon!
My rooster Over Easy put his spurs through my calf more than once. I still have the scar from a particularly vicious attack. I finally sent him to the rainbow bridge. Broke my heart, but he was clearly a danger to me. I tried everything short of locking him away from friend and foe. You have one determined chicken there.I'll be ok in a month once the bones heal, and if the dozen holes in my hand don't get infected.![]()
Funny, I got spurred today too, except it was an accident on the rooster's part and certainly didn't require any more medical attention than washing the blood and chicken poop off my hand.I'll be ok in a month once the bones heal, and if the dozen holes in my hand don't get infected.![]()
What breed was this broody hen?I am sitting in the ER catching up on this thread. A Momma Broody with spurs tore my hand up this morning. I reached in to dump the baby food and in under a second, she got me. It felt like I was being shot with huge steel ball bearings from a machine gun. She spurred me over a dozen times in under 1 second, cracked the largest bone in my index finger and broke middle finger.
That little B!+€h!
