I have been looking at various dog breeds. I came across info on this breed and was wondering if anyone is familiar with them. Have you owned one? Do you know someone who owns them? How are they with chickens, sheep, strangers, etc.? What are the negatives about this breed? Any other info you have about them?

A friend of mine has 2 and their needs and training were very similar to most LGD breeds.
They had an experienced LGD train them with all of their critters. They have many other types of critters but their female stays with all of their birds.
    Does a very good job.
They are a thinking breed like most LGD's. Will think about something and not do it just because you are asking. They are aloof with strangers but not dangerous. Great with their family human and furry! Their male even protects the fish in their pond from predators.
Cannot be off lead and need secure fencing, really just very similar to most lGD breeds in terms of training and lifestyle.
Expensive but health wise has been worth it for my friends. I do not know who their breeder was though so no help there.

My sister who lives in Spain has had several. She currently has a male that is one of the biggest dogs I have ever seen. She has used the same breeder for 25 years. They have some type of breed standard evaluation in Spain, and her dogs always do well.
