Anyone familiar with this breed or the age of these chicks?

My husband and I took a couple of young chickens from a co-worker yesterday, but the previous owners seemed to be confused as to the age of these girls. Someone said 6 weeks and someone else said 2 1/2 months. I'm clueless, despite researching this for over an hour, so maybe you all can help me.

Any guesses as to what breed and/or age these chickens are?

One is pure black, the other is a little larger with red streaks coming in on her(or his) feathers. I hope we don't have a rooster here! :/

my guess would be possibly a copper Maran. I got one that was 6-8 weeks old and she looked very similar.
