Anyone feeding calf-mana

Does anyone mix calf-mana with their layer feed

What kind? Medicated? milk replacer? starter?


We do use some grain with our egg layer- it is half the price of layer, and has more protein, plus the hens love it!

Sorry- we call it all Calf Manna at the feed store. No need to be rude. We actually feed Zach's- betcha NEVER heard of that one. We raise many bottle calves- so I knew what I was talking about, try not to be so snippy next time. geesh.

We actually are just now strictly feeding a 20% protein calf starter grain. It is called Zach's Special. We get it at the local feed store. It is so much cheaper than layer and the chickens are laying better than ever! Zach's is about $8 a hundred compared to the egg layer we was getting at $18 a hundred.

I often mix it in with the layer pellets
