Hi bayouchica. You are the person that I have seen from Louisiana. Glad to see that I am not the only one from Louisiana. I haven't been a member but for 4 days now and I am ADDICTED!!!!! I have been up the past 3 nights until 1:30 am - 3:30 am. My husband just doesn't understand, but he isn't too bad.

I have told some of the "chickaholics" that I know about this group and how friendly and informative that it is, so a few more from LA may be joining soon.

I'm glad to be a part of the group. As one of the members has said (sorry do not remember which one), people here do not think that you have lost your mind, just because you love your chicks.

Where in south Louisiana are you? I'm down here myself and there are others on here but some of them are shy and just lurk.

Welcome aboard and so glad to have some neighbors on here.

We were being outnumbered by the two neighboring states. We gotta fix that.

Hi Yogiman. I am on the north shore. (southeast LA)

I was a little shy at first and sat back and read people's input and advice to others, but I said what the heck, join in the fun. After all, these people aren't going to bite my head off.

I enjoy surfing around and reading others comments, so that I can store their info. in the back of my mind, so that I can use it in the future, if need be. My heart breaks, whenever I read about someone's loss. But mostly, I am have a blast. Very glad that I stumbled on BYC.

Now I am just waiting on my runners to hatch out Sunday, so that I can share the excitement will all of you on BYC.

Hey ya'll I don't live in LA, but was looking at it the otherday from across the river.(looking the very high water) I live in Vicksburg.

Hi Katy. Yes, high water. They opened the Spillway flood gates Monday(a week ago), I think. My husband overheard
someone that said the people that was opening the flood gates told some workers that were working in the area of the flood gates, that "If they wanted their equipment, then they better get it out of where it was at or else it would be under water come Monday morning." They had backhoes, bulldozers and lots of heavy & expensive equipment. I haven't been pass there, but I am sure that they moved it in a hurry. LOL

Katy, I am a little over an hour from you. My sister-in-law lives in Vicksburg.
