Anyone from South Carolina interested in Black Shoulder

400

Better picture of my black shoulder peafowl. $40 each

Would I soon be able to put these two into the pen with the parents or will they not get along?

After breeding season some cocks get along fine but I am not sure how well with more girls in the pen. Possibly depending on the size of the pen.

If I was headed your way or lived closer I would surely see what I could do to help you out. I have room at the pea farm but not really any room here on my farm yet as we continue to build our pens.
I am not down your way but have a friend that is and just got some peafowl so I will let her know about yours to see if she wants to add any.

Help, I just saw a picture of a peahen that looks very much like mine that I thought was a peacock! Would someone look at the picture of my birds above and let me know if they are both hens or if one is a male. I don't want to advertise incorrectly. Really just starting out hatching and seeing if there is a market for peafowl around here. I have really enjoyed working with them and learning about them. Beautiful birds!

Yes, you are right. These Blackshoulder chicks are now old enough that you can sex them accurately. The male starts developing green and it intensifies with age.On the other hand the female looses the dark color and turns white with dark patches on her upper body with a. few to no specks of green, if at all any, on her neck, except a light brown ring on her upper neck.
