Anyone ging to the KY state Fair?

I was there Thursday for the Judging and our own Wyldehorses won with a beautiful Mottled Bantam Cochin Best Feather Footed. She was a lovely hen!!!

Thank you !! That little hen has turned into a prima donna. She now thinks that everyone is only around to feed her treats and make a fuss over her. And I, as an enabler, allowed her to ride home in my lap. So who's fault is it?

It was great meeting you. I had so much fun talking to everyone. I was exhausted by Sunday and the birds looked like they wanted to come home just as bad!

I talked to the state vet guys, and they said, just give them a call, and they will come out and test. They practice excellent biosecurity.

I was there on Saturday and bought a trio of Birchen OEGBs cause I thought they were pretty and purpley, 5 Cochin bantams two of which I found later were very light and boney...Chiknmama took a white male and one of the lightweight ones that is kind of speckledy(pretty) and is going to try and fatten her up, I wormed the other lightweight(again a pretty speckledy one) and gave her electrolytes etc...Hopefully the two lightweights will be okay. The other two I brought home are a buff and another White male. I don't know if it was a good deal but got all of these chickens and a nice wooden transport box for 50.00. Boy were they heavy too, had to carry them all the way to the other end of the buildings to the other side of the south wing because nobody would get off the trollies. I mean my goodness WHERE were they going that was the end of the run almost. I'd swear they were just riding to ride. All in all we had a lot of fun...

I enjoyed the fair myself, picked up a pair of BB Red OE, and a pair of Barred Rock Bantams. Not counting the ice cream, lemon shake up, and caramel corn the better half couldnt live without! lol
