I don't usually pay any attention to our home humidity. Since we are outdoor people we have the doors and windows open a lot until late fall. Because of central heat I'm sure the humidity isn't 'scientifically' ideal but neither is outdoor humidity;) We hatched out turkey eggs a few years ago the same way with no problems. I was afraid they would stick so I turned them 3-4 times a day for the 1st wk, then 4-5 times a day the 2nd wk. I didn't want to turn too much either though. We are hearing happy noises so I don't think they're stuck yet.

I'm so anxious for our peepera to hatch! Technically they aren't due to pip until this afternoon and the kids are definitely hoping nothing happens until they get home. Shhh..don't tell but I'm secretly hoping someone decides to pip early! I've got to keep my head away from the box listening to them or I'll get a cramp:p

I should have an interesting mix... I know several of the eggs are from my BO's, and at least one is from one of my Production Reds. There may be a Black Australorp egg in there as well. My rooster is an Ancona... Little mutt chicks!!!

I only have 5 eggs, 3 RIR and 2 EE. They are due on the 19th.

This is my first hatch, and I'm using a homemade incubator. They are at day 11 and I have had total success they are all alive and kicken. From what I have read I have been expecting at best a 50% hatch rate, so when can I expect to lose some eggs? Or when is the critical point? Lol not sure how to word my question..
